I didn’t know I was going to grow up to be a DJ. Actually, growing up I would always say I wanted to be a scientist. When I was 12, my father decided to start a DJ company to help entertain the South Asain community in the tri-state area. I started going to parties with my dad and started to learn a lot. Eventually, I started making announcements, mixing music and was able to convince my dad to buy me my own set up equipment.

I DJ’ed a lot of events throughout high school and college, mainly through word of mouth advertising. It was nice to have a hobby on the weekends and it was certainly great pocket money! After college, I went on to have a corporate life and continued to DJ. It wasn’t until 2009 that I decided to turn my hobby into my profession. It wasn’t that hard at all – after all, I was accustomed to the weekend parties and late hours for 15 years.

Even though I’ve gone from DJ’ing my own high school dances, friends’ birthdays, house parties to platinum weddings, corporate events and some great clubs – the amount of happiness I feel at every event is always the same. I truly feel that I am doing something I really love to do and can’t wait to see how far it takes me…….
